One morning this week I woke to an unusual sound…not the birds chirping outside, not the shower running and not even my kids arguing. In fact, it was my kids but instead of their usual start-of-the-day antics, they woke me with their laughter.

I’m officially the parent of a teenager. And it’s reminded me that leadership has inflection points.

Whether or not you were lucky enough to take a break over the past few weeks, I hope you got to experience even just a day or two off routine - not having to jump out of bed the minute the alarm went off, time to just ‘be’ - alone or with people you love, and a little more time outdoors rather than stuck in an office or in front of a computer screen.

Last month I clocked five years leading my own business. Kind of hard to believe…and I could have let it slip by just like any other month, but it was fortuitous that I’d planned to take a couple of days out to reflect and plan for the new financial year.
